His added bass lines in the Cello Suite and Flute Partita tastefully fill up the implied harmony. His overall shaping of phrases, warm tone quality, pacing, and rhythmic drive are unquestionable. His ornamentation in the repeats of the Courante and Bourées from Cello Suite 3 enhance the dance pulse but are sometimes overdone in the Gigue. Leisner projects a strong personality and great musicianship. His interpretation of the Suite puts Nathansan's (Jan/Feb 1999) to even more shame. Several technical buzzes mar the otherwise musically satisfying performance of the Presto from Lute Suite 3 and II and III from Prelude, Fugue & Allegro.--Afshar
